What we are: a referral service, not a glazier

We read what you send, work out what kind of job it is, and pass it to an independent professional who does that work and covers your address. They're separate businesses, not our employees. Being matched costs you nothing, and you're never obliged to accept a quote.

Ontario has no general licence for renovation contractors, and glazing isn't a compulsory trade here (Skilled Trades Ontario), so we don't describe anyone as licensed. Ask any pro for a written, itemized quote and for who stands behind the work.

New to Kingston? A posting to CFB Kingston, or a first term at Queen's, RMC or St. Lawrence College, usually means arriving with no neighbour to ask. That's a good part of who this service is for. If you rent, tell your landlord before booking anything.

After you submit: three steps

We review the request

We read the description and photos and sort the job: a thermal unit, a pane in old sash, a patio door, a window screen, shower glass or a storefront. If something is unclear, we ask before passing it on.

A matched pro contacts you

The pro gets in touch about size, glass type, access and timing. Photos of the whole window and a close-up of one corner often let them price a thermal unit or a single pane before visiting.

Expect a second visit for anything custom. A thermal unit, a shower panel or a storm window is made to the exact size of your opening, so the first visit measures, the glass is ordered, and a later visit fits it. Plastic or a board can make a broken pane safe in the meantime.

You weigh the quote and decide

Take the quote, ask questions, get another, or say no. If nobody has contacted you, tell us and we'll pass the request to someone else. Chasing that up is our job.

Your information and how it's shared

We share what you send, meaning your name, contact details, address, description and photos, with the pro matched to your job so they can quote it, and for nothing else. For island or out-of-town jobs, that may be a regional pro who travels to you. What we keep, and why, is set out in the privacy policy; the terms of use cover everything else.
