Terms of use
These terms govern this website and the free referral service Windows Kingston runs for Kingston, Ontario and nearby communities. Sending a request means you accept them. This draft is being reviewed by a lawyer before launch.

What this service is, and what it isn't
We connect people with independent local window, door and glass professionals. You describe the job, we pass it to a pro who does that kind of work and covers your address, and we follow up if the request stalls. Using the service costs you nothing. The pros we refer you to may pay us for that introduction, but it doesn't make us a party to any agreement you reach with them.
Windows Kingston is not a glazier, installer or contractor. No one from Windows Kingston measures, prices, sells, installs or repairs anything, or visits your property.
We aren't affiliated with any Kingston business whose name resembles ours. If you meant to reach a particular shop, please contact that shop directly.
Your contract is with the independent pro
- The pro sets the price, the scope, the schedule and any warranty. Ask for all of it in writing before work begins.
- The contract, if you sign one, is between you and the pro. We can't change its terms or enforce it for you.
- The pro answers for its own workmanship, materials, insurance, site safety, and any permits or heritage approvals the job needs.
- We don't supervise pros and can't vouch for a particular job. If something goes wrong, raise it with the pro first and let us know; we'll contact them and ask them to respond.
Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 generally applies to these contracts. As general information only, not legal advice:
- Contracts signed at home. If you sign a window or door contract at home, you can usually cancel it without giving a reason during a cooling-off period that starts when you receive your written copy. Ontario's door-to-door restrictions cover other products, not windows or doors, so this right is your main protection. See Ontario's guidance on door-to-door sales and home service contracts.
- Estimates. A final bill generally can't go far above a written estimate unless you agree to a new price, so keep the estimate.
Heritage, permits and site content
Our pages explain common problems in general terms, not as professional or legal advice about your property; only a pro who sees the window can judge what it needs. Heritage and permit information is general too. Before changing windows on a designated house, or anywhere in the Barriefield, Market Square or Old Sydenham conservation districts, confirm the rules with the City of Kingston's Heritage Planning staff. Outside the city, check with your township. Programs and permit rules change, and the official source always governs.
Using the site
Please give accurate information, and only request work on property you own, manage or have permission to arrange work on; tenants should check with their landlord first. Don't upload unlawful material or other people's personal information. We may decline or remove a request that misuses the service.
Limits of liability
To the extent the law allows, Windows Kingston isn't liable for any pro's work, products, prices, delays or conduct, or for losses that arise from your contract with a pro. We offer the site in its current state and can't promise uninterrupted access or error-free content. Any right you hold under Ontario consumer law that can't be signed away stays in force.
Changes and contact
We may revise these terms and will post each new version here with its date. The laws of Ontario, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, govern them. Our privacy policy explains how your information is handled and how it works walks through a request. For questions, use the contact page; to start a job, send a quote request.
